On the upside, I moved into larger lodgings, and out of my boyhood room. I am now the proud owner of a strange yet somehow still awesome set of side-rooms, attached to my house.
So, being the mildly artistic type, I decide to cover every available wall space with a mural. Right. Pencil - check. Eraser - check. masking tape, spraypaint, normal paint, gas mask, turps, markers - um... later wen the sketches are all done. but i do have the pencils. and the eraser. I do.
HOWEVER. seeing as how these rooms are also for living in, they contain the trappings of me... including tables an crap. ok, so lets stand on a table an do higher up the wall. Problem. hanging lamp in way. Solution: hold lamp up with back, while drawing with face 10 cm from wall. End result: ANAMORPHIC HELL.
For those not in the know here, its when, due to a skewed perspective, you draw something stretched or squashed in a particular direction. You know like if your sitting drawing on a very tall piece of paper, an sittin down it looks fine, but when you hold it up, its squashed? Words written on the road take full avantage (eg: 'SLOW' or 'SCHOOL'?). fine from in your car, but strethced when looked at straight down.
So wish me luck with the rest of the mofo... an I hope you little people learned something here today... The captain has spoken. Hard to port.
